Recognized as a scholar, teacher, and curator, Dr. Robert Hobbs specializes in both late modern and postmodern art. He has published widely and curated dozens of important exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum of Art; the Drawing Center (NYC), the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others. In 2002, he was appointed as the U.S. curator for the São Paulo Bienal with the exhibition Kara Walker: Slavery! Slavery! This past year he curated the exhibition Tavares Strachan: Polar Eclipse for the Bahamas Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. LECTURES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC All lectures are held in Osher Hall on the second floor of MECA's Porteous Building at 522 Congress Street, and begin at 5:30pm. |
