"Suite Limpet", a theatrical site specific installation work, premieres in Otter Creek, Mount Desert Island on September 28, 2012. Ninety minute performances are scheduled for September 28, 29, 30 and October 5, 6, 7. Performances begin at 7pm at Otter Creek Hall. Bus transportation is provided to the waterfront at Otter Creek in Acadia National Park. Audience members will be returned by bus to Otter Creek Hall. Seating is limited and tickets will be sold in advance at http://limpet.brownpapertickets.com. All proceeds will be donated to the Aid Society of Otter Creek. This new work is the third in a trilogy of performance/installation events focused on the landscape, history and folklore of Mt. Desert Island. The work explores human activity and memory associated with the surrounding landscape and is intended to conjure "hidden" histories of human occupation and experience on the island that are not covered in the guidebooks or National Park brochures. This new work will remind participants of the connection between humans and the natural world, and evoke a sense of mystery and wonder. |
