THEATER IN THE PARK: “fufu & oreos”

free performance of a new one-woman show
created & performed by Obehi Janice

Jill Brown-Rhone Park (Lafayette Square)
900 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02139
(in front of Café Luna on Massachusetts Ave.)

"fufu & oreos is a semi-autobiographical, semi-improvised one-woman show that stages the journey of Nigerian-American performer/writer Obehi Janice as she reflects on depression, identity, and faith with irreverent humor and moving testimony.

"This Saturday is the 51st Anniversary of Nigerian Independence.  What better way to celebrate than seeing the show the night before?"

Obehi Janice is a performer, writer, speaker, and teacher from Lowell, Massachusetts.
Her work explores the power of voice in identity politics, cultural exchange, and
testimony. She graduated in 2009 from Georgetown University's School of Foreign
Service with a self-designed degree in Culture, Politics, and Theater. An actress
in the Boston area, she has performed with Company One, Underground Railway
Theater, New Exhibition Room, Zeitgeist Stage Company, Actors’ Shakespeare Project,
Huntington Theatre Company, and the Emerging America Festival. An excerpt of fufu &
oreos is featured in Young Angel Midnight: An Anthology of Emerging Artists. She is
Nigerian-American.
