Manning: 8 Dances for the Soldier Who Brought a Helicopter Massacre in Baghdad to the Light of Day
Lubberland National Dance Company

MIT’s Program in Art, Culture, and Technology will present the Lubberland National Dance Company’s workshop production of Manning: 8 Dances for the Soldier Who Brought a Helicopter Massacre in Baghdad to the Light of Day

The Lubberland National Dance Company is a project of Peter Schumann's Bread and Puppet Theater, the internationally renowned Vermont-based company which has been making Cheap Art and Political Theater since 1963.  For over four years puppeteer Maura Gahan has led Lubberland Dance workshops and performances based on contemporary political themes with trained and untrained dancers throughout the United States. This performance of Manning is the result of a three-day workshop led by Peter Schumann and Maura Gahan of Bread and Puppet Theater, with MIT students and members of surrounding communities.

For more information about Bread and Puppet Theater and the Lubberland National Dance Company, see breadandpuppet.org.
