CARPENTER CENTER LECTURE: AN EVENING WITH CHRISTIAN BOLTANSKI Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Harvard University 24 Quincy Street, Cambridge Lecture Hall, Reception with the artist to follow Boltanski, among the most prominent and celebrated artists of our time, works in video, photography, and installation to explore themes of death, memory, and loss. He will speak about his work on Thursday, November 15, at 6 pm, including the video installation 6 Septembres, which will be on view in the Carpenter Center Main Gallery. 6 Septembres is a three-channel video installation incorporating newsreel footage taken every September 6th, the artist’s birthday, from 1944 to 2004, a meditation on memory and the implacable passing of time. Exhibition on view in the Main Gallery from November 1—December 20, 2012. |
