The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts supports the creation, presentation and documentation of contemporary visual art, particularly work that is experimental, under-recognized, or challenging in nature. A strong commitment to freedom of artistic expression led the Foundation to play an active advocacy role for artists during the culture wars of the 1990s and continues to inform its support of organizations that fight censorship, protect artists’ rights and defend their access to evolving technologies in the digital age.

The LEF Foundation is a private foundation operating in California and New England that supports contemporary work in the areas of film, architecture, design, and the visual and performing arts. To encourage an atmosphere of creative possibility, LEF often endorses projects at the early stage of their development. LEF seeks opportunities where its funding will impact the success of the proposed activity by providing seed money, working in collaboration with other funding sources to leverage additional support.
